Times Square Vs Piccadilly Circus: The Billboard Capitals of the World InfoGraphic

September 15, 2015

Times Square and Piccadilly Circus are two of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The first thing that comes to mind when you think about these places is the array of colourful billboards that light them up. Billboards have long been a feature of the areas, and in Times Square the zoning now requires that the buildings are covered with billboards.

The footfall in these areas is staggering, and more people visit Times Square than Disney World each year. Visitors are inundated with billboards as they pass through the areas, and big companies are spending millions to connect with these people. The amount of billboards in the area shows no sign of relenting, and it is hard to imagine a time when millions won’t see the billboards shine bright above them.

This info-graphic from Sign A Rama Toronto outlines the history of both areas, the proliferation of billboards, and describes what the future may hold for Times Square and Piccadilly Circus, check it out.
